Is your sweater knitted flat? If so the length of the needle doesn’t matter much. Can you link to your pattern?

Looking at the patterns, it looks like all the sweaters are knit “flat”–that is, back and forth on the needles rather than knitting a tube in the round. Your needle would be fine.
The only pattern that might need the circular needle would be the blanket, and the longer needle would be fine for that,too.
