I have several bamboo circular needles…Clover, Takumi. The package they come in will say 16 inch but will measure from tip to tip usually 1-1.5 inches longer than that. This is the case with several…most, actually. Why is this? Is it the brand? Bamboo? Thanks in advance!
Circular needle measurement
The convention is to measure tip to tip and that’s usually about right. I don’t know why the bambo circs would be so much longer
Sometimes they aren’t the exact measurement, but they are usually pretty close. Not sure why clover is so far off, but it may not make that much difference. It kind of depends on what you’re going to do with them.
It can vary a little, but usually whatever you make on 16" needles will be bigger than 18" around, so they work fine.
