Circular needle length question

Hi! I am a relatively new knitter working on this bottom-up Bamboo Summer Top pattern in size small. I realized after I had knit a bunch of the lace that I was actually using 36" circular needles when the pattern calls for 32" circular needles. I’m making a size small so the bust is supposed to be 34". I just got a set of interchangeable needles (yay!) so I have a 32" circular needle now.

Will switching to the 32" circular needle change anything in terms of size/knitting tension? I’m knitting comfortably on the 36" needles but the stitches felt a little spread out when I cast on.

Thank you in advance!

Welcome to KH!
If it’s comfortable working with the 36" needles and the stitches aren’t stretched out, go ahead and continue. It won’t hurt anything to change to 32" either since the needle tips are what determine the size of the stitches.
