Circle knitting

hey it melissa i have a question i am useing a circle neddle for a blanket i am making do i have to join the ends.

Most blankets are knit flat. Just turn your work and knit across again. Make sure the yarn is coming from your left needle though or you will join. You only want to join if it’s something you’re going to steek (cut) later.

ok what if i want to hide the cast on tall but i don’t want to weave it in

You can knit 3 or 4 stitches with the tail and working yarn together then cut it 1/2 inch or so away from the base and continue. It sometimes makes a thicker spot if the yarn is very bulky, but it usually works pretty well.

Also…remember that stockinette curls so you need to do a border of 5 or 6 stitches if you are doing stockinette in the center.

any thing else i need to know

About what? Knitting flat on circular needles? Just be careful not to have the working yarn coming from the right needle or you’ll accidentally join the work. Other than that I can’t think of anything. Ask if you need more help.

Well, in the middle of a row, the yarn needles to be coming off the right needle, but starting a row, it should be on the left needle.
