I decided to make christmas stockings this year b/c I couldn’t find any in the stores I really liked. I made mine and my sons out of felt and the hubby decided he needed a knit one. the white top folds over on itself so when hanging there is about 2 1/2 - 3" of white. I blocked it lightly on the bathroom counter…
That looks great! I made my girls stockings when they were little. They were of the cut and sew variety…the ones that are pre-designed so it’s easy.
Looks great! I’m thinking of knitting some stockings for next year … I think it’s a great idea! :yay:
Omg, one year, I helped with my daughter’s grade school class’ Winter Celebration Party. I was picked to do some kind of stocking stuffer thing for them. Well, I didn’t have the actual money to buy bags for the stuff after getting the candy/fruit/small toy fillings, so I figured I’d make stockings to put the stuff in. However, I forgot how long it took to make (even though they weren’t the size you’d stick out for Santa) 26 stockings, even knit stockinette! I barely got done in time! However, the kids LOVED them! Each kid kept asking if they could take them home and inwardly, I was like: omg take them, I don’t want to see them again! but outwardly, I said: they’re yours to do whatever you want with them… take them home if you want! Lol, it was a big hit, I’ll have to say… and I got rid of some stash scraps, too… You know, to think of it, every time they had me do something for the kids, it was always something that had a big impact. One of the Thanksgiving parties, I made popcorn balls but they were all dressed up to be turkey-like! The popcorn part itself made up the head and body general shape, then large candy corn for the beak, the red licorice bites for the waddle, skittles licorice for the tail feathers, pretzels for the legs, m&m minis for the eyes, etc. The kids loved those, too… but they didn’t last as long lol… I guess they tasted as good as they looked!
Great job! I need to knit us some new ones too - I just never seem to get around to it.
