Christmas Knitting

Hi all! It’s been quite some time since I’ve been on here. I’ve been busy taking online classes and started a new job back in March, so I haven’t had as much time as I would like for knitting. I always try to make something handmade to give my preschoolers at Christmas and found these little hat ornaments, http://www.mystery.com/~audrey/patterns/tiny_jayne_hat.html
and http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/holminihats.htm. I used Cascade 220 and each took about an hour or so to make. I modified the hats with the ear flaps and the buttons so they would roughly be the same size as the hat with the fold up brims. I cast on 28 stitches instead of 19 and used two size 6 circs. For the ear flaps, I increased the number of picked up stitches to 8 instead of 6.

Those hats are adorable! Bet the kids loved them. How thoughtful of you.

Oh, those are so cute! What a great idea!!

Thank you both! They were a lot of fun to make.

I’ll bet the kids were thrilled! Those hats are a wonderful idea as a gift and as a decoration. Thanks very much for the pattern links and welcome back.
