I’m working on knitting for Christmas. Early on this year I decided to commemorate the year I learned to knit with something knitted for everyone- namely dishcloths. All adults -brothers, sis-in-laws, parents, will be getting a dishcloth in their stocking. I have made some darker ones which are “manly” dischloths. As my knitting has improved I’m not satsified with all these for gifts and will be keeping some, but most have a chosen recipient. I intend to make a few more.
Then I have two nephews and two neices. The Aligator Mittens are from the book Stitch ‘n’ Bitch Nation. They are for a nephew and I used Mission Falls superwash, which I loved! I will probably make him a matching hat.
I have a bag in the works for a neice and plan a different set of mittens and hat for the other neice. Still need a plan for the other nephew…
Those wash clothes look like a great way to try a bunch of different designs and stitch patterns and end up with something more useful than a swatch…now where did I put that cotton yarn…
Looks like I’ll be headed to the store soon to take a look at that book…those mittens are just way too cute! My kids would flip if I made those for them! Great work on everything. Thanks so much for sharing!
I have chipmunk mittens that were my husbands as a child that are very similar to the alligator ones. My grandson would absolutely adore the alligator mittens! I may have to put that on his Christmas list.
Great job on the dishclothes too! Must feel good to have so much done.
