I’m crossing the finishing line, I’m one teddy bear paw and one mitten thumb close to finishing my Christmas knitting.
Anyhow… I can tell I’m needing a break because I was finishing up the palm of the second mitten.
I laid it on top of the first mitten and went :noway: I’ve messed up the decreasing and… the second one is shorter than the first. Noticeably so…
And here is me, starting to cry because I am now going to have to knit a 4th mitten for this nephew because my second and third ones don’t match. The first one was rejected in a trial by my SIL.
Anyhow… my son comes up and tries to comfort me. “Aw Mom, don’t cry… can’t you do that farting thing? That should help!”
Um what?
“You know, where you go, ‘Oh For Pete’s Sake! I made a mistake and now I have to go back so many rows.’ and then you fart and go back!”
Oh, FROG-ging… Duh!
So… now the mittens are the same length and I didn’t have to knit a 4th mitten.
So when in doubt… remember to have a good ‘fart’ as it tends to relieve some pressure and make things better!
