This was take 2 on my present (the first one turned out child-sized =x )
It’s supposed to be hearts but they’re kinda diamond shaped, which is ok too I guess… In hindsight, 4-4 ribbing probably wasn’t the best choice.

You are so inventive! The hearts show up nicely. What you did with the decreases is interesting. Your mom will be happy with it, the hearts mean, “My son loves me”, and not everyone can say, “My son knit it for me.” She’ll be very proud.

I understand blocking flat things, like scarves, but how do you do hats? Would I need something like a mannequin head for a mold?
Also, here’s the original hat that came out too small. I finished it and put it in the Brown Santa collection at work, so at least it won’t go to waste.
I think it is a [B][COLOR=Blue]great hat![/COLOR][/B] I kinda like the shape of the designs better than the usual heart shapes! Adds more interest. And I also like your ribbing modification! All in all, a very interesting hat!!!
