Long day and it isn’t going well.

Yes,this pattern would make it a long day. Do you have a photo of the gown?
The R.B. k3tog and k3tog R. B.? I’ve never seen this but I think that what you might do is slip the right needle behind the two legs of the stitch in the row below, slip those two loops onto the left needle and knit them together with the next stitch. I’ve tried it on needles but I’m not sure about the look at all.

Hope this helps
Thank you for the photo. It does help. I’ve tried this several times but there are a couple of rows where the stitch counts don’t add up. Even counting the double yarn over as one stitch because of the way it’s worked in the next row doesn’t help. I’ll try it again tonight. Is this a vintage pattern by any chance?
It is a vintage pattern, doing this for a friend. Wish I had never started.
I can’t reconcile the stitch counts for a couple of the rows. Even standing on my head to do the math hasn’t helped.
What about changing the edging to one of these?

They are similar in spirit and all seem more straightforward.
Kind of you to do this for a friend.
You can always substitute something else. I wasn’t that advanced to do something like this when I made my granddaughter’s christening gown. But what I did was to knit a strip of lace and sew it on the bottom of the dress with a sewing thread. There’s no shame in it. This was my first lace pattern. It was very easy.
