Chinook Lace Shawl

Hi all! :waving:

I’ve missed you! I’ve been MIA for awhile now. I just finished my first year of teaching, and I also just completed a six-month alternative education certification program.

Whew!

:passedout:

I didn’t have much time to knit, but I did manage to crank out the Chinook Lace Shawl, a kit I purchased from Knit Picks.

The shawl was an easy knit, and I just love the yarn included in the kit. It blocked nicely, with the fibers opening up to provide a beautiful drape. The shawl is rather large, but that’s really what drew my attention to the shawl. I’ve always wanted something I could snuggle into.

This kit comes in a green/blue/purple colorway as well.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my project!

WOW! It’s beautiful!

Congratulations on your first year of teaching, and finishing the alternative ed. program. You’ve been really, really busy, but found time to knit a piece of art, good going!

It is just gorgeous! :muah:

How perfectly elegant! You’ve done beautiful work on this stunning shawl. Enjoy every minute of wearing it.

I’ve always wondered about the Knit Picks kits. Your shawl looks great!

WOW! What a stunner! Beautiful work! Congrats on completing your first year of teaching, an alternative education certificate program, as well as this lovely shawl.

With that kind of track record, you should have time to make a bazillion things this summer!

It’s beautiful!

That is really beautiful!! I was looking at that kit myself. Congratulations on your first year teaching and your certification.

I am speechless, this is so beautiful!

Great work, auburnchick, and congrats on your teaching year. Thanks for showing us this!

I am completely amazed that you knitted that beauiful work of art!
Congratulations on your teaching year. Our schools here in Lakeland FL will start back to school on Aug 22. I work as a crossing guard for the elementary school behind my house.

WOW!!!

It is a Wonderful :cheering:

Absolutely amazing shawl, Auburn! Congrats on all your accomplishments from this year. May next year be equally as successful.

Stunning, what a great way to make a comeback  Well done!

Holy Cow! This is simply DIVINE! Love everything about it!!! Great work, and welcome back!!!

We start back on the 22nd as well. BTW, my daughter attends Southeastern in Lakeland. Small world!! :waving:

Thanks for all of the kind words, all!

I thought I would share one more picture of the shawl. I just returned home from a seven-night Alaskan cruise. I took the shawl with me, and it came in handy, let me tell you! The weather was much, much colder than what I’m used to in Florida.

I wore the shawl the day we saw Hubbard Glacier. My kids have affectionately nicknamed it “The Cape,” because it’s so large. They had begged me to “flap” it the entire trip, so I finally gave in…right in front of the glacier…as if I were an eagle.

:teehee:

Once again, thanks for your kind words. It’s so nice to know that I can come back after an extended absence and find everyone just as welcoming as ever.

WOW WOW WOW, WHAT MORE CAN I SAY!

Stunning! It’s so pretty, and I love the natural colors.

Actually, it’s very eagle like in the color way you chose.

After seeing yours, I ordered the green-blue-purple version, can’t wait to get started on it. My DH had given me a GC last Christmas, and with the sale, my payment is $1.40, can’t beat that.

Thank you for the motivation.

GORGEOUS:notworthy:
