Child's scarf?

I bought some Caron SS Quick(Watermelon color) from WM the other day. It was on sale. I want to make a scarf for my little girl. She is only 1 1/2. I know she won’t wear it much, but I still want to make it. I just wanted to see if any of you had any ideas on what I could do? I was thinking of just doing garter stitch… but I’m not sure of how wide or how long to make it. Or what size needles would be best.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The only pattern I could find for bulky yarn for a child was this one.

She might be more inclined to leave it on if it isn’t hanging down and bugging her I would think… :think: Maybe something like a neck warmer? Like this kind of thing?
