I am trying to knit a children’s cardigan, and I am kind of new at following patterns( I have only ever knitted Scarves and Dishcloths)the pattern is on this site, it is called Daisy

Yes, the rest of the stitches sit and wait. You’re doing what’s called short-row shaping.
wait til when though???
At some point in the pattern, they’ll tell you what to do with those stitches, I promise.
