Checking Gauge in Trinity Stitch

I m knitting shrug for my 3 year old daughter. The pattern says GAUGE: 26 sts = 4” [10 cm]; 32 rows = 4” [10 cm] in Trinity Stitch.

I know gauge checking in stockinette stitch. Can anyone help me to check gauge in trinity stitch.

Thanks in advance

It’s always a bit trickier in pattern stitches, especially one like trinity stitch (also called raspberry stitch) that are somewhat 3-dimensional.
I end having completed a RS row, mark off 4 inches in the center of my swatch with straight pins, follow the line of the pins up to the stitches on the needle and count the loops over the needle. Do this in a couple of places.
