Changing sock pattern from cuff down on dpns to toe up with magic loop

Hi!

Does anyone know how to alter a pattern for cuff down socks written for dpns to be toe up with magic loop? I want to have them be as tall as possible (from my one skein), so I really want to make them at the same time, toe up, so I can just have the amount of yarn determine the height.

The pattern I want to use/make is Cookie’s Hedera: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/PATThedera.html

I am open to changing the heel to a short row heel if that makes it easier to do with magic loop. Anyone have any sage advice??

hiya merchgirl,
hedera’s are very easy to convert, just concern yourself with the actual lace pattern and it’s repeats. Don’t worry about the toes or heels, you can replace the originals with your own.

Just make sure that you can divide the stitch pattern evenly in half. Half your stitch count on one side and half on the other.

That should be the only variation you have to do. I wouldn’t worry either about if it’s right side up or upside down, either way the lace pattern looks good.

Hope that helps ya hun!
