I am making a baby hat. I started with size 6 needles, after 1 inch of ribbing I am told to switch to size 8 needles to do the rest of the hat. How do I do that when knitting in the round?
When you finish the round, you pick up your empty size 8 needle and act as if you had two straight needles, knitting the stitches over onto the 8. When you get to the last stitch and the 6 is empty, lay it aside and go back to knitting in the round with the 8.
It’s possible to slip the stitches onto the other needle, etc. but that’s a real pain in the patoot.
Thanks Becky, did it.
