Changing colors with showing 1st row of stitches

I am wondering how i can fix my problem.
I am knitting an afgan co 60 stitches sz 17 needls. i started with brown then changed to black. the stitches that have both black/brown are on one side, the other side it looks seamless(you can’t see the row of stitches from the color change) NOW i want to add a third color but when I knit stitch I see the stitches from new color on the oposite side from the one with the black/brown stitches. How do I get the color changes on all one side (WS) i guess. I tried knitting first with the 3 rd color and the stitches showed so then I purled and the same thing happened.
What am I doing WRONG??? :wall: :wall:
thanks

Do one more row and then change colors and you should be good.

could you explain a little further… I am so confused :wall:

You have to change colors on the same side as you did the first time. Two colors always show on a purl side, so you have to knit into a knit row.
