Changing color

 The things we do for love!

Okay, Ingrid, do I have this correct, you are, in essence, having no floats when stranding? or have I just not gotten what u r saying at all?!
You need a computer cam  I am going to start stranding after I begin sweaters after the 1st of the year. I haven’t done alot of color works, of course I will practice more on socks when I have my sock sabbatical…which may actually be the 1st of the year bc I WILL finish all of my scarf ensembles & shawls  that I have been planning for months and putting off!! Any ole’ way, when I begin my sweater tutorial with my knitting guru who is on standby for me…I know that I will call on your expertise…so, you can show me everything with a video cam, by email!! LOL, if I need more instructions than what Amy has, then u could help via email cam :cheering: :cheering: Now that i’ve said that I KNOW that lots of people will tell you the same thing  …you’re welcome :roflhard: !!
All kidding aside, this technique kind of reminds me of the way that I do my ends so that I avoid having to weave ends in after I finish the project. I have a feeling that I am looking at it the wrong way…am I? Thank you, I must give you the title of :notworthy: Knitting Queen :notworthy: because of your vast amount of knowledge & your leadership & joy in sharing your knowledge with us

I just know how to knit and have been doing it a long time. That’s all.

The pictures here are just how to attach a new color. Jeremy wondered how to attach a new color when you might only have one stitch of the color in a row, when doing intarsia.

My stranded knitting has strands, of course. The trapping techniques is to avoid long strands, and like you said, to avoid having to weave in ends–the best, huh?

I do actually have a video camera–looks like an eye–but I’ve never used it.
Stranded knitting isn’t hard–the main secret is to not make it tight, that’s all.

This picture shows the inside of the sweater I’m almost done with (yay!). The strands are short because the yarn is thin and the stitch color changes frequently, so I didn’t have to do too much trapping.

Bump.

:rofling: I posted a link to this, and when I saw it appear in the main forum, I was confused for a minute!

I posted it while you were linking to it.

OMG…I MUST know abut the unholy thong!!!
