Hello

I m knitting a fish and the pattern says the tail of the fish to be circular on circular needles. Is there a way to change the pattern and make it flat on straight needles? It is going to be like a triangle…

Here is the pattern
cast on 12sts
Rnd 1: Knit
Rnd 2: K1, p1 around.
Rnd 3: *K into front and then back of next st, p next st, rep from * around – 18 sts.
Rnd 4: *K2, p1, rep from * around.
Rnd 5: *K2, p into back and then front of next st, rep from * around – 24 sts.
Rnds 7-9: *K2, p2, rep from * around
Bind off.

The even rows would need to be worked in the opposite st and from the end to the beginning. Row 2 would still be k1, p1 across, but row 4 would be k1, p2 across. What’s row 6? It looks like rows 7, 8 and 9 would be like ribbing, so for row 8 you knit what looks like knit sts and purl what look like purl sts. Maybe row 6 is too.

thanks very mych, i ll try this. round 6 is not mentioned in the pattern…maybe a mistake

It may be a typo and 7, 8, 9 should be 6, 7, 8.
