Casting On

When casting on using smaller needles the pattern calls for switching to larger needles after knitting several rows. The pattern reads change to larger needles and begin pattern. What is the easiest way to make the transfer; this pattern calls for 162 stitches. Thanks in advance… :o)

Just start knitting with the new larger needles instead of the smaller one. You don’t need to transfer them beforehand.

yes, it is that simple: when working the first row of that new pattern, you hold the smaller needle with the stitches on it in the left hand and the new needle in the larger size in the right hand.

depending on your project, a transfer will not even be possible (with non-stretchy yarn and bigger difference between the needle sizes… the loops are only as big as they are…

But just work them off with the new needle size and you are fine!

I was hoping this was the correct way to go; just double checking… Thanks so much!!! :o)
