Casting on Prepatterned Yarn

I have this amazing sock yarn and I was knitting with it and realized the pattern wasn’t coming out right. It started in like the middle of the row and it was frustrating me so I had to frog it! :frog:

Is there a special way to cast on sock yarn to where it patterns right?

You have to accept a certain amount of that kind of thing with self patterning yarns. In the end it really doesn’t matter for a sock, but if you want you can go to a spot on the yarn that starts the color and cast on from there. Cut the tail shorter if it’s too long. For the second sock go to the same spot on the yarn and cast on for it. Just be sure that the second color after that is the same as the first sock.
