I am working on a project whose pattern calls for an increase by casting on. At the end of my row, it asks to cast-on thirteen stitches. Not sure how to do this one…
You can use any of the single-strand cast-ons–backward loop works well, as does knitted cast on. There are videos in the Basic Techniques section.
I am doing my frist sweater, neck down, and it was side to side for a while, then I had to cast on 16 stitches, i found that going from the wrong side, and purling on the stitches made for a nice starting edge before connecting with the end of the round and knitting in the round after that
they actually looked a LOT better than my picked up stitches did
