Casting on for toe up socks?

I have tried two different cast on methods for toe up socks (cable and over the tumb) and for some reason that i haven’t figured out yet- i keep getting twisted stitches. My sock toes’ look like eyelet lace! please explain this phenomenon to me! :shock:
