I’m just starting a project that I want to have a vertical stripe. I’ve studied Amy’s instructions on the Intarsia method but I don’t know how I should cast on my stitches for the second color! Any help? :??
You can cast on with one color and then start the stripe on the next row, or you can use the knitted cast on and switch colors on the cast on edge. You’ll have ends to weave it, but the color will go all the way to the edge.
Thanks, Ingrid! I think I’ll cast on all in the first color and then add my stripe on the 2nd row. So, when adding the 2nd color, do I simply cross the old color over the new? If you haven’t guessed, I’m teaching myself…
I just use my regular cast on method.
Yes, make sure the old color goes over the new, and you’ll have to weave that end in later, anyway.
