Casting Off On Both Sides

I’m a novice knitter hoping for some help. Currently I have 30 stitches on my needle and my next instructions are to cast off 10 stitches on either side leaving 10 stitches in the middle of the piece.

How do I do this? I know how to cast off but when I do I’m left with my yarn hanging off of the end of the garment and I’m not sure how to bring it over to then knit rows with the remaining stitches.

I hope that the more experienced knitters are able to help me out. Thank you!

Cast off the 10 stitches and then knit across (in pattern if there is one). Turn the work and cast off 10 stitches. You are now left with the center 10.

Wow, that was much easier than I thought it would be. That you so much!!!:stuck_out_tongue:

You’re welcome!
