Casting off instructions

I’m close to finishing the back of my jumper and I have 39 stitches after shaping the armholes. I can’t figure out the last set of instructions so I’m hoping you can shed some light on them. This is what it says:

Cast off 11 sts, K16 sts, cast off rem 11 sts.
Leave rem 17 sts on a stitch holder

Ah hold on, I think I’ve sussed it. There will be one stitch on my needle after casting off the first 11. Then knitting 16 will give me the 17 stitches that will end up on the holder. Is that right?

What is your pattern and designer?
That sounds correct. One stitch left on the right needle after the cast off.
One question: is this meant to be done in one row?

Yes, this is the last row on the back of a round necked jumper by KingCole (I think that’s the name!)
