Hi, I’m working on the Drops Sea Mist Cardigan and am having a problem casting off for the underarm section. I have 142 stitches, The pattern says work 35, cast off the next 4, work 64, cast off the next 4 and work the last 35 sts. (134 sts remain) I can’t figure out how many stitches I should have left on each front and the back because when I attempted to place markers after adding the sleeves, it just didn’t look right. The stitches were not evenly placed. I know this should be pretty straightforward but it has me stumped! Any help most appreciated. Bonnie
Hi there. Looking at the pattern, when you have done the two sets of bind offs, you are left with a piece which has 35 stitches either side (your left and right fronts), and 64 stitches centrally which is the back. These are divided by the cast off sts which is where you add the sleeves. So on your needle you will then have: 35 sts (front) 50sts (sleeve) 64 sts (back) 50 sts (sleeve) 35 sts (front). Giving you 234 sts in total. You then place a marker after every 26sts (8 markers in total) so that you are decreasing equally across the piece. Hope that helps a bit!

Hi! thanks for responding so quickly!
Yes, it does help. Maybe when I add the sleeves and count again it will work out. I will let you know.
Good luck!
