Cast on

I’m attempting to teach myself how to knit. I know this is a very basic question but I want to make sure I don’t make any mistakes.
When a pattern calls for casting on 28 stitches does that mean that if i’m doing a double cast on method that I would only do 14 stitches?

Thanks

Nope it is still 28 stitches. Double tail only relates to the number of tails your string has as you are casting on (as opposed to single tail) and not the number of stitches you are casting on.

welcome! Did you check Amy’s videos for the double tail cast on?
