Cast on new stitches

Hi All,

i have a question…i’m knitting a mitten and i just put my stitches on a holder for the thumb now it says to cast on 2 stitches. How do i do this? thanks for any help

I’ve had pretty good luck with the backwards-loop cast-on (called single cast-on for the video here).
