Cascade 220 or Mission Falls 1824?

If you’ve used either, please tell me about it. If you’ve used both, which to do you prefer?

I want to make an afghan and I need an aran weight yarn. Preferably a superwash wool. I was going to use DB Cashmerino Aran, but was told that it pills badly, so now it’s between these two.

the cascade 220 that I have used is not superwash. In fact I have used it for several felted projects. Have you consider Plymouth Encore? It is an acrylic wool blend. I have used it for sweaters and I think it would be soft enough for an afghan.

I’m not a fan of Encore and I wanted the blanket to be all wool (no blends).

I do not like Cascade 220 for things I want to be soft-it’s sturdy and reliable but wouldn’t want to snuggle under it. I’m not sure if Cascade has a Super Wash…

But I adore Mission Falls. I have made several things out of it. It is soft, it can pill a bit. The colors are nice. I found out my LYS is going to stop carrying it…she said it doesn’t sell fast enough. Guess I didn’t buy enough.

I made this out of Mission Falls:http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/forum/showthread.php?p=954541#post954541

Cascade 220 superwash Maybe it’s softer than regular Cascade 220. Superwash wools do seem to be a bit softer than regular wools.
