Carla Sweater Pattern Help

I’m getting confused with a part of the pattern after knitting the sleeves to the body, specifically the bolded bit below:

  1. Now all parts are collected on a circular needle: 1. Start with the right sleeve. Knit the stitches of the right sleeve, then knit the stitches of the back, the left sleeve, and finally those of the front piece. Insert a stitch marker at the beginning of the round.

2. knit 2 purl stitches at the transitions (1 stitch from each piece).
— Where exactly do I purl? At the beg of the round after the marker (which is the first stitch of the right sleeve and the last stitch of the left sleeve before the body? This would make the purl stitches mirrored on the front part of the raglan. Is this correct?

  1. in every 2nd round, knit 2 stitches together on both sides of the purl stitches, as follows: pick up 1 stitch loosely in front of the 2 purl stitches, knit 1 right stitch, lift the picked up stitch over the knit stitch. Then knit the 2 purl stitches, knit the following 2 stitches together right side. (= a total of 8 stitches are picked up in each round).
Repeat these raglan decreases 9(10)11(12)13 times.

Thank you in advance!

Hello

I’ll let someone else help with the pattern .
I can see where the purls are and I think the decreases sound like a skpsso and then a k2tog but it isn’t 100% clear to me from the wording of the pattern.

It’s this one:

The pattern is a free download and only available in Danish and German. The pattern itself is not very detailed and not so much for beginners

Ah thanks. I’ve edited my previous post to remove the incorrect sweater to reduce confusion.

It will help to put markers at the join of the right sleeve to the back, back to left sleeve, left sleeve to front and front to right sleeve. After you’ve knit all the pieces onto the circular needle, purl one stitch on each side of the markers. The beginning of round is at the join of the front to the right sleeve so slip that beginning of round marker, purl one and continue to one stitch before the next marker, purl one, slip marker, purl one and then repeat at each marker. The last purl will be one stitch before the beginning of round marker.

Every other round you can work the decreases as ssk or k2tog through the back loop or skp as Creations suggested and k2tog. The ssk is worked in the 2sts before the purl sts and the k2tog in the 2sts after the purl sts. You’ll always have 2 purls one on either side of your markers. The decreases are worked just before and just after the 2 purls.

A little bit of difficulty with the translation is probably adding to the confusion. It is a very good looking sweater.

Your explanation makes much more sense to me. I guess I was confused about the " 1 stitch from each piece" bit.

@salmonmac, you’re the bomb! (I’m showing my age by using that term )

Much too much!
Sometimes when designers try to over explain a direction it just becomes more confusing. Glad you’re on your way with this good-looking pullover.
