Cardigan stretched after blocking

On the website it say – https://fyberspates.com/vivacious-4ply
."" This soft but tough yarn can be machine washed and even tumble dried on a low temperature.""
I think you need to was it again put it in the dryer

Also why did you iron the sweater??

I’ve been following this thread in suspense the last couple days lol glad it worked out for you. Do you have a photo of your finished product?

I’ve been following in suspense too!
Glad it worked out.

I also have had a recent stretch, my last sweater has elongated to a dress :joy: I swatched carefully but did not take into account the pull and drag of it carrying its own weight. I will eventually chop a wide section from the bottom and turn it into a cowl.

Thank you, I will get a photo and post it.

I don’t have a dryer, so it went on a gentle spin and then dried outside. Reason for ironing: this yarn was unpicked from another cardigan I loved but wasn’t wearing much. So the yarn was all bobbly from being knit once before. A cool iron helped smoothed it out.

As long as that works, that’s fine. There may be a better way to straighten out the yarn however before knitting with it. It makes for a much pleasanter knit and probably more consistent gauge.

I don’t use a ball winder or swift for this but just wind the yarn around my hand and elbow. I also tie in 3-4 places around the loop of yarn before soaking. You can hang it up with a very slight weight on the end (a light coat hanger) until dry. Works very neatly.
