Cardigan-Right Front Neck Shaping

Hi… I am making Patty Cakes Set (LW1330) from www.redheart.com
I just completed Left Front of the sweater and Shape Neck.

Now the directions reads:
Right Front: Work same as Left Front reversing neck shaping.

ok…. hmmm…. I will follow the same directions as Left Front… so how do I reverse the neck shaping if I follow the same directions…
what do I need to do?
….thanks so much. cair:knitting: :knitting:

You will be making a mirror image of the left side.

but if I’m looking at the front left… the stitches are bounded off by the side seam… how do I do that on the Right Side? Sorry, I’m probably not explaining it properly…. Thanks again…. cair

You BO at the start of the row rather than the end of the row.

Or, you BO at the start but from the WS not the RS.

Left Front: “Shape Neck: Keeping continuity of pat, with CA, K10 (13,16, 19) sts, turn and put rem 8 sts on a holder. Dec 1 st at
neck edge every other row until 8 (11, 14, 17) sts rem.”

For the Left Front you knit the given number of sts, say k10 for the smallest size and then turn to the purl side putting the remaining 8sts on a holder. For the Right Front, you would purl 10 sts, then turn to the knit side and place the remaining 8 on a holder. Then you can do the decreases at the neck edge every other row and continue with the pattern.
