Cannot understand pattern

So I started the Tailored Scallops Cardigan by Pam Allen today and I am already stuck. I am on row 3 of the back section. The instructions for this row are as follows:

Row 3:
K2, [k2tog] 2 (3, 4, 2, 3) times, [yo, k1] 2 (3, 4, 2, 3)times, place marker (pm), work center 50 (50, 50, 75, 75)sts for feather and fan patt as [yo, k1] 4 times, [ssk] 4times, k1, [k2tog] 4 times, [yo, k1] 4 times, pm; rep from 1 (1, 1, 2, 2) more time(s), [yo, k1] 2 (3, 4, 2, 3) times,[ssk] 2 (3, 4, 2, 3) times, k2—2 (2, 2, 3, 3) marked full 25-st reps of feather and fan patt at center, 6 (9, 12, 6, 9) sts for partial patt rep on each side of main patt, 2 edge sts at each end of needle."

I got up to the k2 part but am now confused. At that point I have finished the row. What are they talking about in the next part about partial patt and edge stitches. Thanks for your help!

This is the pattern for the row -
“K2, [k2tog] 2 (3, 4, 2, 3) times, [yo, k1] 2 (3, 4, 2, 3)times, place marker (pm), work center 50 (50, 50, 75, 75)sts for feather and fan patt as [yo, k1] 4 times, [ssk] 4times, k1, [k2tog] 4 times, [yo, k1] 4 times, pm; rep from 1 (1, 1, 2, 2) more time(s), [yo, k1] 2 (3, 4, 2, 3) times,[ssk] 2 (3, 4, 2, 3) times, k2”

Everything after that is explaining what’s in the sections. “2 (2, 2, 3, 3) marked full 25-st reps of feather and fan patt at center, 6 (9, 12, 6, 9) sts for partial patt rep on each side of main patt, 2 edge sts at each end of needle.”

There are 2 or 3 full repeats of the the F&F pattern in the center between the markers, and 6 (9, 12, 6, 9) sts make a partial repeat on each side of that with 2 edges sts at the beg and end of the row.

ohhh. Ok thanks! I was worried I was going to have to rip and try another pattern. :stuck_out_tongue: (Ever the impatient knitter; a horrible combination)

When there’s a ‘-’ in the instructions, everything after that is a note. Sometimes it’ll be a number or several numbers that indicate how many sts you should have at the end, other times it’s more detailed like this one to explain the layout of the sts.
