Can you knit your own clogs?

I’m a total newbie… LOL or maybe a knitwit… hehe…

I’ve seen threads on here about making clogs. I have a pair of Birkenstock clogs that I’ve worn to death. I love them so much and would love to have more but darn, they are expensive. I got to thinking that maybe I could make some myself and I could save a little $$. Have any of you knitted clogs? Can you wear them outside or are they just for home?

Thanks for helping a newbie out. :??

Oh, honey, you have SO come to the right place!

Do a search for either “FT felted clogs”, “felted clogs” or… read through KellyK’s postings - her blog is great, too! Kelly is the clog queen and could probably teach a course by now!

And yes, you have to buy the pattern! They look super easy and all but… I have never seen anything like this pattern and I’ve been knitting for a while.

Good luck and welcome aboard!

Almost 2000 posts, all about them clogs. They aren’t the kind you wear outside, though, they are more slipper-like. Very durable though.

Actually, Kelly IS teaching a clog course!!

I’m going to be in big trouble. I have already bought so many things already (newbie) and now I want to make some of those!!! Thanks gals!
