Can you help PLEASE?!

I am a beginner making a baby bonnet and have 2 ear flaps now complete and on spare needles. I now have to make the main bonnet by adding in the ear flaps to the work by:

“Cast on 10 sts. With RS of the work facing you Moss Stitch across the 13 sts of the Left ear flap. Cast on 29 sts, then with RS of work facing you Moss Stitch across 13 sts of Right Ear Flap. Cast on 10 sts. You will now have 75 sts on the needle.”

Im stuck! Please help! How do I Moss Stitch ACROSS the ear flaps?

Please help me! I was doing so well until now!

If your question is how to do moss stitch, it’s knit one purl one on the first row and the purl one knit one on the next row.

If your question is how to put the earflap into the hat, here’s a video showing it. Although she is just knitting the earflap not doing the moss stitch.

She suggested using a cable cast on, which she shows in the video for the CO between the flaps. I did, didn’t like the way it looked when finished, so single crocheted around the edges.

I just made a hat like that using this pattern:

There are pics of it on my blog.

thank you so much -makes more sense now! Will try it out; fingers crosed!
