Can someone tell me the difference?

What is the difference between arran weight and heavy worsted. I am thinking if they are the same it might open up a lot of patterns to me since I am looking for something that uses arran weight.

Yes, they’re pretty much the same weight.

It seems there is a [B]Light [/B]worsted wool in the US which is equivalent to UK Double Knitting - slightly less chunky than Aran.

[B]Worsted [/B]weight in the US is equivalent to Aran.
