Can someone decipher?

Hi! Could anyone explain this direction to me?
ON ROWS WITH NO DEC K 1 St ON EACH SIDE OF MARKERS FROM RS.
Thanks!

Instead of doing the dec on some of the row, just knit the st instead. If that’s not enough of an explanation, can you type a couple rows before that or give us a link to the pattern?

Thank you for your reply and help. I’m decreasing 8 sts on the right side only, 4 markers, 1 st decrease before marker and one st after marker…So, I understood the instructions to mean that on the non decrease side, I should knit those sts. The pattern is ribbing. But, I don’t think my understanding makes sense either…The first decrease is K2tog, the second decrease is SSP1O (I think that is how you write it…LOL) Thank you!!

Yes k2tog is right, the other is ssk or skp both of which use different actions to make the same left leaning decrease. I think your understanding is correct.

I understood what to do as far as decreases, but don’t know what this line means…

Because this is some multiple of knit purl ribbing, the instructions are telling you what st to do on either side of the markers in the rows where there is no decrease. You’ll probably lose the k/p ribbing here but they want to have a pretty line of knit sts on either side of the markers.

When you’re not on a dec row, just knit the sts. It’s overly redundant or translated oddly - of course you don’t dec when it’s not a dec row.

Thank you all!!
