Can I knit both sleeves at once on one needle?

I am doing the haiku cardigan from knitty, it is my first sweater, and I am wondering if I can cast both sleeves on at once. I am using a long circular needle, so there would be room, but how do I go about the actual knitting and casting on? I guess I separate the wool into two balls, and use one for each sleeve?

I haven’t been on the forum for a long time, and have been knitting this one little cardigan for over a year!! Just about to finish the main body of it though, hence the sleeve question…

Sure you can! You’re right, use a separate ball for each sleeve.

If you needle is long enough you could knit your sleeves in the round using the magic loop. I always do my sleeves and right and left front pieces at the same time.

I use the Magic Loop method to make both sleeves at the same time. That way, when they’re done, they’re done, and they match, mistakes and all.
