Can anyone help? Sirdar the essential baby book

So I’m knitting from the Sirdar The Essential Baby Book and I’m knitting the Design I, the All in one in size 0-3 months.
Left leg
Foot
Cast on 31 sts
Next row (ws) purl
Proceed as follows
R1 k4, m1, k3, m1, k9, m1, k6, m1, k9
R2 purl
R3 *k1, p1B, rep from ** to last st, k1
R4purl
From 1st to 4th row sets patt. Proceed as follows
R1 k5, m1, k3, m1, k11, m1, k6, m1, k10 [39sts]
R2purl
R3 patt 22, m1, patt 6, m1, patt 11 [41sts]
Work 7 rows more without shaping.

shape instep
R1 patt 30, k2togtbl, turn
R2 p1, patt 6, p2tog, turn
R3 k1, patt 6 k2 togtbl, turn
Rep 2nd and 3rd rows 3 times more then 2nd row once more [31sts]
Next row patt
Next row purl

I begin to get unsure from “work 7 rows more without shaping” do I do another purl row as row 4 then into row 1 again? If I didn’t surely the pattern would be on the wrong side. Ive got two options I’m thinking:

  1. R4, R1, R2, R3, R4, R1, R2
  2. R1, R2, R3, R1, R2, R3, R1

As for the “without shaping” can I just check I’m write in just not making a stitch?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to KH!

Maybe this pattern?

Yes, this will work:

  1. R4, R1, R2, R3, R4, R1, R2
Don’t make the increases in row 1, just knit across. And yes, without shaping is without increases or decreases.

Thank you so much for your response!
On the shape instep part, do I purl back inbetween each row or do I just do row 1 straight into row 2?

For these short rows, work row 2 immediately after row 1. Don’t put in an extra purl row.
