Please can someone help im knitting a Rowan pattern waistcoat. I’m stuck on the shape armhole. It tells me to cast off 54 st at beg of next row. I should have 60 st on needle. Then work 1 row. Cast on 54 st at beg of next row so I should have 114 st. Then work 1 row ending with RS facing for next row. But the shape where I was suppose to cast on 54 st at the beginning doesn’t look right I’m not sure about it. The pattern is knitted across.
What is the name of your pattern and designer?
Your knitting on this pattern stitch is outstanding. If you cast off 54sts at the beginning of row 1 (RS row) then finish the row, turn and work row 2 (WS) on the 60sts then you can turn and cast on 54sts at the beginning of row 3. That will give you a slit for the armhole opening (blue arrow).
You can use a cable or knit cast on if you’d like for the cast on.
