A while back I posted about the Camp stitches, asking if anyone had ever been. I sent off for the brochure about it, and it came in the mail today. I was so excited!! A five day camp devoted to knitting! In my town! All of your meals are included, a room, t-shirt, and the classes. You can take up to three. A camp store is also set up, where you can buy yarns and stuff. There are 10 classes to choose from, most are intermediate/advanced. One of the instructors is Lily Chin! How cool is that! So, there I sat on my couch reading the brochure, getting more and more excited as I read. Then it happened. I got to the last page. The prices…
$585.00 for a local person. (no room included!)
$895.00 for a double room with private bath
$1375.00 for a single room with private bath
I nearly fell off the couch out of shock.
I was thinking maybe $100-200 or so, without a room (since I am local). I would be willing to pay that, but not $585! Let alone $895 or $1375!!!
I was even more bummed when I read that the camp store is for registered attendees only…Dang!
:verysad: Needless to say, I will not be attending the camp stitches event… :verysad:
I just wonder how many people are actually willing to pay that much $$$$
