Calorimetry help please!

i have frogged 3 times,i know that pattern is not that hard or at least i don’t think so,but i understand rows 1-5 but don’t understand row 6-7 so please help me before :hair: :hair: :hair:

this is the rows that i have problem whit.

Row 6: Do not remove marker. Sl 1, work to next marker, turn work. 44 sts between markers; 38 sts at each side of piece, outside of markers.

Row 7: Sl 1, work to marker, remove marker, work 4 sts, replace marker, turn work.
Repeat Row 7 seventeen times more. 2 sts remain outside markers at each end of the piece.

i understand row 6 until it comea to this part.

; 38 sts at each side of piece, outside of markers.

And one more thing I’m using 100 st

Your numbers might be different - they add up to 120 which is the number of CO sts in the original pattern. If you’ve done enough short rows, and you have an equal number of stitches outside the markers at each end, then just go ahead and begin row 7.

do i knit 44 st and then 38 st next to the marker and then turn and knit all the way over and knit 38 next to the other marker?

I believe row 6 is just working one more row between the markers you already have in place. If you cast on only 100 stitches, you won’t have the same number that the pattern calls for.

After you work your row six between the markers, go on to row seven where you work between the markers and when you get to the morker, remove it and work 4 stitches, place marker and turn.

I am currently knitting this. i only cast on 88 stitches so my numbers never came out to be the same as theirs.

mayday

thank you so much, that make sense!
