Cabled / aran sweater pattern for a busty gal

I hope yall can help me find the right pattern.
I am wanting to knit my first aran / cabled sweater but I am not finding many patterns that I like. I loved the aris sweater / cadigan (see thread “this made me go eeeee”)
But the sizing seems too small. I am a shorty at 5’ tall and have a 34 d bust line. And size 8/10 hips to match lol.
I want a sweater that is a bit boxy and about hip length. Generously designed for comfort. Think the boyfriend sweater with a feminine touch.

Most of the aran patterns I have found have way too much ribbing. Ribbing is not attractive across middle aged butts!

If I find a general pattern that I like can I just omit the ribbing?
But perhaps one of you know of a pattern I might like?
Also I am a complete novice to knitting but I dont mind a good challenge!
Thanks for your help!

This might work. Or this.

I found them here, but there are so many, you might want to take a look through them.

There are all sorts of booklets and books of aran sweaters, also, for purchase, too.

If it’s the ribbing at the bottom of a sweater that is putting you off, you can just start with the pattern stitches on a smaller needle and then after a couple of inches move to a larger needle for the main pattern.

“Most of the aran patterns I have found have way too much ribbing. Ribbing is not attractive across middle aged butts” Yeah, I figured this out too! I’m still not sure that it’s actually MY backside attached to my body - it looks more like my mothers?

What about a simple rolled edge at the bottom? Rather than doing the ribbing, just do stock. stitch at the bottom edge and it will curl up on its own. This might work especially if you are looking for a boxy and comfy fit. Plus, it looks more feminine. At least I think so.

Good luck! I’m not sure about a pattern to suggest? I also loved the one that you mentioned (“eeee” indeed!)
