Cable Stitch? =3

Hi everyone
I’m just learning how to do the cable stitch and I watched the video on this site, but I just wanted to make sure of something. When you want to make a cable stitch that looks like http://www.knitting.co.nz/graphics/learntoknit/knit08b.jpg

Do we have to incorporate both left and right twisting cables or just pick one of them and that result will happen? Thanks!

Still a newbie, forever a newbie xD :knitting:

Just one for this effect. That picture looks like it was made with the sts held in front. That’s the only difference between a right and left twist - sts are held either in front or back of the ones that are knit first.

suzeeq is right, that is a left twist, made by holding the cable needle in front. but if you cables are supposed to match, make them all the same way, the right twist is definitely different.
