Cable project

Hello,
I am a serious newbie, but I want to learn how to knit cables, it is starting to get cold here in Argentina and I am thinking I will make a throw- with cables that is, I found one

which is nice, I found it on knitting pattern central, but I am having a hard time finding any more, I want to be very seriously in love with the pattern since it will take me about a million years to make and I was hoping maybe you all had some ideas.

Either all one solid blanket or in squares, it doesnt really matter.
