Cable Pattern Question

I have a pattern (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/double-crossing-diamonds-aran-pullover) by Tara Jon Manning

Question- cable instructions: sl 2 to cn, hold in front, k2, k1 from cn … What happens to the second stitch on the cn? is this a mistake or am I supposed to do something with it.

Thank you so much, in advance -

It’s probably a mistake in the pattern, meant to be k2, k2 from the cn. You can locate this cable in the photo and see if you can tell if it’s a conventional 2 over 2 cable and you could contact the designer to check. I don’t see any corrections online or even comments on the Ravelry project pages.

All I can say for sure is that this was a problem two years ago.

I can’t enlarge the Ravelry photo to even look at the design. I bet salmonmac or someone else will have a workable solution. You might look for a similar cable pattern and see how it’s done. Maybe try messaging the poster of the comment on Ravely. Maybe there is errata. Sorry I can’t be more helpful.

is it weird to have a cable where you sl 2 to cn, hold in front, k1, then p2 from cn?

Almost anything is possible with cables and having purls mixed into cables does occur. Sometimes there are cables where a ribbon of purl sts twists in and out of the knit part of the cable.

This photo is clearer and probably reflects the original pattern (the Double Crossing Diamonds). I don’t see any with purl sts crossing over a knit but I could be missing it.

You could try messaging the designer on Ravelry https://www.ravelry.com/people/TaraJon
