Cable Pattern Help

Hi. I’m working the following cable pattern for the front of a cardigan

http://www.vogueknitting.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=ZXZvwDsIMmA%3D&tabid=726

I’m on row 7 and I’m a little bit confused. If I repeat the row, I end up with a half of a cable at the end.

Should I just do 3 8st LCs to work out the cable pattern?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You shouldn’t be ending up with half a cable. You work 4 sts, do the 8 st cable and do 4 sts then repeat. You end up with 8 sts between the cables, don’t just do 4 sts, cable, 4 sts, cable. The cable on row 7 is centered over the 2 cables on row 1.

I’m sorry I should have clarified. I only have 24 stitches between the markers according to the pattern. So do I work outside of the markers?

Ahhh, looking at the chart again, I think I get it. For R7 you k4, work 2 cables (the pattern repeat in the colored outline), then end with k 4.

Oh ok… Thanks so much!
