I want to make this purse for my best friend but I’m not sure how I would get the knitting onto the purse handles? Do I sew it on? Do I do a whip stitch? Is there somewhere on here that shows what a whip stitch is? Do I just sew it as a rectangle, sew up the seams and then attach it to the handles? TIA for your help!

It looks to me like it’s sewn with a tapestry needle and the yarn you used for the project, just making lots of stitches close together through the top edges of the bag and right around the handle to join.

I’ve been working on this same pattern. I added an extra cable section to make the purse a bit larger. It’s a cute pattern but I am really struggling with the handles. I guess I didn’t buy large enough handles because when I sewed them on, I could barely open the purse.
Argh!!
