when you slip the stitches to work cables do you slip knit wise or just put needle tip to needle tip and slide them off? also I have a pattern that does C4F all the way across the row and C4B all across another row. is there a way of not using a cable needle. I think there is a way but I don’t totally understand it. thanks for any input.

When you do use a needle, though, you just slip the stitches from one to the other as if to purl, so you don’t twist them.
Yes, needle tip to needle tip is a good way of thing of it; slip as if the right needle was just an extension of the left needle.
